Here we are in 2020, and our year started off with basically the whole world getting put on hold.
Brewing coffee at home is really going viral right now.
No one wouldβve expected this, but here we are in some crazy and strange times.
Almost anyone who reads this at the beginning of April as Iβm writing it feels the chaos in the atmosphere Iβm sure. Maybe by now youβre feeling some cabin fever tooβ¦ I know I am!

So in this short article I just want to provide some real talk, encouragement, and tips for making coffee at home.
Thereβs never been a better time to make coffee at home than now, during the coronavirus craziness!
I think if there was a soundtrack to these times, this song would be itβ¦
Some Real Talk
Alright first off, Iβve never seen so much fear in my life all across the earth.
It seems surreal to me. People are in utter panic over this virus. The news headlines in my Google news feed mostly read apocalyptic, doomsday oriented, fear-mongering titles, touting an upcoming economic collapse and that people will die all over the earth. Yes, some people have died from coronavirus.
But this virus is not the end of the world, and it will not cause the world economy to collapse. Fear NOT!
Not only that, but coronavirus has a mortality rate of 1% or thereabouts. That means that thereβs more than a 98% survival rate. Also, bear in mind this is before we have any kind of antibody, cure, or vaccine.
I have no idea how weβll look back on this time, but it will certainly be a time that weβll never forget.
To be honest, Iβm getting really tired of reading fear-mongering and speculation on the news that sometimes ends up being wrong anyway.
The fact of the matter is, while coronavirus is a serious issue, if you simply look at the facts itβs not as dangerous as the media is portraying it to be.
It is dangerous to the elderly and people who have serious, severe pre-existing health conditions, yes.
But for most of the population itβs not as dangerous as the media is trying to scare us into.
Some Encouragement
Fear is your enemy. Itβs a bigger pandemic than coronavirus.
Fear, worry and anxiety will not do you any good.
Use wisdom of course, thatβs important, but donβt walk in fear.
Whatever your opinion is about the coronavirus and these tragic times we are in, itβs our job to ourselves and society to have peace. Take a deep breath and just say to yourself, βEverything is going to be ok.β
Because it is going to be ok.
Being a Christian, I take the advice to not be afraid seriously. One of the most repeated statements in the Bible is, βFear not!β. Jesus says many times that He brings peace, and that is what I hold onto in these times.
Take this time and make it valuable. You can accomplish so many things during this time to stay at home. You can spend more time with family, learn new skills, read, watch movies, work on unfinished projects at home, and so many other things.
Make Some Social Distancing Flavored Coffee!
One of the things you can do when youβre socially distanced is by making social distancing flavored coffee!
Also known as brewing coffee at homeβ¦
I have many articles on the site about coffee makers and methods to brew coffee at home, also tips and tricks to make your coffee the best it can be.
If you donβt know where to start you can take a look at my 1st and 2nd articles with general tips, easy tricks and information to take your coffee up a notch.
I also have written an article with 4 reasons to make coffee at home, and the coronavirus lock down would definitely be the 5th reason on the list if I were to add another one!
Ok enough link sharing. But seriously, make some coffee while youβre at home, and pleeeease make it good!
Smile, Make Good Coffee, Have A Great Day, Repeat
There has never been a better time to hone in on your home-brewed coffee skills!
So brew coffee by the gallon! Just kidding donβt brew it by the gallon. Brew 10 gallons at a time. And itβs probably better to stock up on coffee than toilet paper.
Thatβs all I have for this short snippet of an article. So please stay safe, do not be afraid, spend some quality time with family, smile, and enjoy your coffee.
Coffee cheers!
