I’m now thoroughly convinced that Kicking Horse Coffee can’t make a bad coffee; I’ve tried almost all of them.

This one, however, is definitely unique compared to all the other ones, and I’ll get to that in the section below.

Overall, I’d rate this coffee a 7 out of 10!

It’s not my favorite one that I’ve tried from Kicking Horse, but it’s still great.

So now, let’s get more into the Kicking Horse Coffee “Lucky Jim” review, and look at the flavor profile.

The Flavor Profile

Let’s start with the most important thing, right?

And that’s the taste!

As I’ve already said, I’ve tried most of the other coffees from this company, and this one is pretty different from the rest.

The aroma has a sweet, smoky, berry and molasses profile.

The flavor of the coffee itself, at first sip, was sweet and smoky.

Although, the more I drank this coffee, the more I realized that it’s a smoky one!

Maybe Jim is a smoker…

Anyway, after finishing the bag, I can say that the predominant taste in this coffee would be smoky.

That smoky taste is what sets it apart from all other Kicking Horse brews.

And in my opinion and taste, I love a good smoky coffee, but they tend to get a little old kind of quick.

So if you’re into that taste, you’ll love this coffee.

The acidity is very nice; it’s zesty and sweet.

This is a light-bodied coffee, and the molasses shines through in the aftertaste.

So it does have other flavors than smoky, but that bold taste is what really comes out the most.

It’s A Good Swift Kick…

One of the things I love about Kicking Horse is that they describe their coffees not with tasting descriptive words… but with other things that only leave you guessing.

The flavor description they give for Lucky Jim is “good / swift / kick”.

And even though that tells you little to nothing about how the coffee actually tastes, I think it’s perfect.

They do this on all their coffees.

This is the most bold brew that the company makes I’d say, and even though it’s probably my least favorite out of them all, it’s still really good and worth the buy if you know what you’re getting.

If you want my recommendation for an absolutely amazing Kicking Horse coffee, check out my very favorite one here!

But one thing I can really appreciate about Lucky Jim is that it stands out from all the rest of their coffees.

Jim is sort of the odd man out.

Closing

For those who are ready for a good swift kick in the pants, I’m sure you’ll love this coffee.

As with all their other coffees, Lucky Jim is a high quality coffee that in my opinion, the freshness and quality is very noticeable.

That’s one of the things I love about all their coffees: no matter what blend, or the flavor profile, you can really taste the freshness and the quality of the beans they use.

So I hope if you get this coffee, you’ll like it as much as I did!

If you have any questions or comments about it, please feel free to let me know in the comments section below and I’ll be happy to hear from you!

And with that… coffee cheers!
